kassiope is a tool for developing business applications. These are applications that support business administration processes.

When completed kassiope will be a repository-based-program-generator. In the current version 0.15b it is a framework that simplifies development of business applications.

kassiope supports development of LAMP-applications. In fact kassiope-generated applications are true "write once, run anywhere"-applications. On server-side just a web-server, that supports PHP (typically Apache), and the MySQL-database are necessary (many other SQL-databases are supported either). On client-side only a web-browser is needed.

kassiope is published under the GNU General Public License.

To demonstrate, how kassiope-generated applications look like, kassiope-prototype application has been developed. To use this application you need to login. Create an account if you have not done so yet.

kassiope-framework including kassiope-prototype-application can be downloaded after choosing "kassiope Download" in the menu.

In the current version 0.15b the framework supports a type of program for single-record processing as well as another type for multi-record processing.

In the next step AJAX will be integrated. That means, communication between the web browser and the server will be done using AJAX. So the user form will not have to be rebuilt in every dialog step. This way the application will be faster and more stable.
